The kit

What's in the box

The kit is delivered in a rather plain un-assuming box, the first impression is the weight, it is heavy. Once opened you can see why, bags and bags of lost wax brass castings.

There are 8 bags of brass castings, half of which are specific to Scale7.

a whitemetal firebox casting, a couple of bags of turned fittings and nuts and bolts.

Etched sheets of nickel silver for the chassis, and bodywork.

An extra etched sheet in the Scale7 kit, with the wider frame spacers and other detailing bits changed due to the wider frames.

Finally a spiral bound photo illustrated construction manual.

Before I started on the kit I marked up on the etchings all of those replaced with a Scale7 version. I wanted to make sure that I didn't accidently fit any narrow gauge components so used a marker pen to put a cross on all those etchings not required.

What's not in the kit

However the kit does not include wheels or motor and gearbox, the wheels can be purchased from the Scale7 stores, and the kit has been designed around an ABC motor and gearbox.
